Homemade Rose Salt & Sugar Scrub

   This week I wanted to share one of my absolute favorite DYI's for what just so happens to be my all time favorite pastime, which is taking nice long relaxing baths! I find baths to be not only soothing but also a great way to decompress and gather my thoughts at the end of the day. Naturally I'm a huge sucker for bath scrubs, aromatherapy oils, bath bombs, I love them all! So given that, I thought I would share a great recipe to make your own sugar or salt bath scrub made from all organic ingredients. The best part of making your own bath products is knowing all of the ingredients and knowing they're all organic.

 Salt Scrubs
  • 1 cup of organic sea salt
  • 1 cup of room temperature coconut oil {best when it has a liquid consistency}
  • 30 drops of essential oil (I like rose but you can use lavender, peppermint, almond oil or whatever you like)
  • 1/4 cup dried rose pedals or dried lavender (you can also skip this step)
Sugar Scrub
  • 1/2 cup of organic raw sugar or 1/2 cup of organic cane sugar {tip: cane sugar is softer than the raw}
  • 1/3 cup of organic sea salt
  • 1 cup of coconut oil {best when it has a liquid consistency}
  • 30 drops of essential oil
  • 1/4 cup dried rose pedals or dried lavender (you can also skip this step)
Mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl (I like to use my hands when mixing) and then scoop the mixture with a spoon into your favorite container. I bought these glass containers from the container store but you can use any container.
I hope you enjoy!
